The ductBOX range of access chambers was originally designed for the cable TV industry, in which its many benefits are widely recognised. These advantages have also been welcomed, and the products adopted, by other utilities for all underground ducted cabling networks. Design

The ductBOX access chamber range of complex shapes has been carefully developed to avoid the need for ribs that could obstruct cable coiling or easy backfilling. The reflective, smooth interior surface is easy to clean, makes for a better working environment and minimizes the risk of cable damage. The chambers are designed to provide 250mm or 450mm of cover over a 110mm duct with an impressive variation of sizes and depths.

Material

The ductBOX range of access chambers are manufactured from GRP (Glass Reinforced Polymers). They are produced by spraying resins and glass strands (usually 30mm) over aluminium moulds to form the required shape.

Strength

The manufacturing process of spraying multi-layers of GRP over the moulds means that the ductBOX chambers are capable of, and have been tested to, BS EN124:1994 B125 loadings.

Adaptability

The lightweight, cost saving, ductBOX GRP chambers are rapidly installed to create an integrated load bearing structure that provides excellent access to services. They outperform concrete or brick construction methods in every respect, providing the optimum solution for specifiers and installers alike. A single pass construction of network systems speeds up installation flow dramatically. With the ductBOX range of access chambers project management is simplified, the need for site supervision reduced and disruption kept to a minimum.
